Ink Youth Football Tournament 2009
As part of Ink’s commitment to corporate social community, they organised a youth charity football event for Beyond Social Services at Fico Sports Hub. Formerly known as the Bukit Ho Swee Social Service Centre, Beyond Social Services has been serving low-income housing areas since August 1969. The turn up comprised an enthusiastic bunch of children from 7-18 years old. Special guests from The Warriors invited were Captain Aleksandar Duric, Therdsak Chaiman, Daniel Bennett, Mustaqim Manzur and John Wilkinson. The winning team eventually walked away with trophies, medals and not forgetting autographed jerseys from the SAF FC players!

People’s Association Youth Movement (PAYM) Forum Policy Talk 2009
Mr Teo Ser Luck, Senior Parliamentary Secretary, Youth and Sports and Transport and Mr Zaqy Mohamad, Hong Kah GRC MP hosted the PAYM Forum Series at Fico Lounge. Approximately 80 teenagers and young adults showed up to engage in the topic of “How to change Singapore sports culture for the better”. Together with the 2 members of parliament, Assistant Professor C.Kunalan, Physical Education and Sports Science, National Institute of Education was also invited as a special guest to be part of the panel.

Singapore Shell Recreation Club Futsal Tournament 2009
Global energy producer Shell gathered their staff from island-wide offices and formed a total of 23 teams for their futsal tournament. The 1 day event was the first time held at Fico Sports Hub. However the entire program ran smoothly and all of them left home tired yet happy to have explored another venue for their annual inter-dept games.

Housing Administration Department Active Day (HAD) 2009
The Housing and Development Board hosted their one day active day for their 300 staff from the administration department. Their event was planned in such that various games were concurrently played to promote healthy lifestyle and team building through frisbee, water soccer, beach volleyball and tug of war competition.

Standard Chartered Bank Offsite Meeting 2009
Overseas delegates were treated to a half day football get-together session, a breakaway from a series of intensive meetings scheduled into their Singapore trip. The day started around 8am where approximately 160 management staff arrived at Fico Sports Hub for a buffet breakfast before the actual kick off of the competition. The teams were made up of mainly veterans who played spontaneously and it was obvious they enjoyed the sporting event which for most had been a while since they last engaged in the beautiful game of football. The games ended around 11am and they left all feeling refreshed and energised, ready to continue the day with another round of meeting.

RHB-NTU Goal For Fund 2009
Goal For Fund was the year’s key event for The Nanyang Technology University. Organised to provide needy students with financial assistance through a street soccer challenge, the organisers’ intention was to use sports as a vehicle to transmit 3 main values namely Charity, Fun and Love. At least a minimum of $40,000 was targeted to be raised through this event. With RHB Bank as the major sponsor, the charity tournament saw more than 600 players, both males and females from 78 teams which participated in first the preliminary round held at Fico Sports Hub. The top 32 teams than proceeded to Ngee Ann City, Civic Plaza to compete for the ultimate Champion Shield. Special guests who showed their support in the finals came from the Football Association of Singapore, RHB Bank and also Mr Teo Ser Luck.

Microsoft Charity Futsal Carnival 2008
President, Mr S.R Nathan was the Guest-Of-Honor when Microsoft embarked their fundraising platform under the President’s Charity Challenge 2008 at Fico Sports Hub. Appearances were also made by Youth and Sports Minister, Dr Vivian Balakrishnan and many Members of Parliament. The one day carnival was a success and most importantly a total of $476,800 was collected specially towards development of Information Technology skills for the disabled. Sone of the participants included teams from Challenger Technologies, Fed Ex, Fraser & Neave and HTC Singapore etc.

FAS Fico Fives 2007
As part of the Talent Development Programme, The Football Association of Singapore held the annual National Competition for under those 13 and under 15 years old. Players of the 5-a-side football tournament comprise of students from island-wide primary, secondary, international and FAS affiliated soccer schools and academies.

H-TWO-O Under 10 Football Fiesta 2008
Nearly 400 students from 32 primary schools took part in the 5-a-side football competition organised by the Football Association of Singapore. The event was carried out as part of the Association’s search to identify and develop potential footballers, which was strongly supported by Yeo’s-Producer of H-TWO-O isotonic drink.

North West CDC Futsal Challenge 2007
The annual 1 day tournament attracted youths of both genders between the age of 13 and 16 to participate in a friendly and meaningful Futsal Competition in order to promote community participation among youths through a friendly sporting activity
promote bonding, racial integration and healthy lifestyle among youths in a competitive setting, and encourage youths to stay active and productive during the December school holidays. The turnout was good and the atmosphere was great. Although the rain came, it did not dampen the spirits of the playful participants. Special Guest of Honour was Dr. Mohamad Maliki Bin Osman, Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of National Development.

Diva La Football 2007
The Singapore Management University Women Soccer team in collaboration with Heartware Network organized their annual soccer competition cum carnival for females which came with live band performances, bossaball and also water-soccer. This event aimed to promote the spirit of sports and football to women and incorporated community bonding and meaningful volunteerism. The Guest-of-Honour for the event included Associate Professor Ho Peng Kee, Senior Minister of State (Law and Home Affairs) and President of FAS and Member of Parliament, Madam Cynthia Phua.

Peoples’ Association 4-On-4 Football Tournament 2007
The competition saw more than 100 teams competing in 4 categories, namely: Men’s Open (aged 21 to 35 years old), Under 20’s Men (aged 17 to 20), Under 16’s Men (aged 14 to 16) and Ladies’ Open (aged 14 and above). The opening match kicked off with some children from West Coast CSC playing an exhibition match and A/P Ho was involved as the referee. Members of the Young Lions squad were also present to play a celebrity exhibition match. It was certainly a treat for everyone present, as the players’ every touch was greeted with loud cheers from their supporters.

FAS Centres of Excellence Futbol Fiesta 2007
The FAS Futbol Fiesta held in March last year provided an excellent opportunity for members of the youth development family to get together and interact in a competitive yet carnival-like atmosphere. About 600 people comprising young footballers, parents, coaches and officials graced the occasion where our young talented players got to showcase their skills in a modified format of four-a-side exhibition matches. The Guest-of-Honour invited was vice president of FAS, Mr Lim Kia Tong.
